Wolf/Bear Family Outing at Los Jilgueros

On Saturday, 20 September 2008, the Wolf/Bear dens (dens 1 and 2) went on an outing to the Los Jilgueros Preserve in Fallbrook on south Mission road near Peppertree. The preserve is owned and operated by the Fallbrook Land Conservancy. The preserve welcomes pets and as you can see in these photos, we brought ours along; as did many people with which we shared our walk among the trees and foliage and beside the lake that is contained within the preserve.

Riley Norris (shown in this picture) brought along his Father, Steve and brother and sisters, Hayden, Shaely and Delaney and their dog.

Timothy Foster (shown in front in this picture) brought his dog Einstein and led the group on our walk around the preserve.

Adam Whitaker (shown in the third picture) brought his Dad Mark and their dog, Chloe. Nancy Holt, one of the Den leaders and her husband, Jack (not pictured) were also on hand.

We talked about the Leave No Trace Awareness award and as part of what we need to do to earn that award, picked up a lot of trash around the preserve and put it in the trash.

August Pack Meeting

In August, Pack 725 had our Pack meeting at our Cubmaster's pool. Our wonderful Cubmaster is Kendell Ricks. Thank you Kendell and Denise for making your home and pool available to us.

You can see some choice pictures of the Cubs (and their siblings) frolicking in the Rick's pool.

During the awards ceremony many awards were handed out; including the Wolf rank and Arrow Points to Riley Norris.

Thanks to all the cub parents for their support.

Cub Scout Olympics 2008

Vista, CA - Cub Scout Olympics was held Saturday, 16 August 2008 at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum (AGSEM for short) on Santa Fe in Vista. It was hosted by Pack 752. Their Cubmaster, Jim Hunter was the Master of Ceremonies. Many Cub Packs from areas like Oceanside, Vista, Bonsall and Fallbrook were in attendance. From our Pack, Riley Norris, Cydne Norris (Riley's Mom) and Jack and Nancy Holt participated.

The festivities began with the Parade of Packs. The proper Olympic atmosphere was provided by the fire truck which lead the procession.

This was followed by the Torch Relay (there was plenty of smoke but no fire because the Torch was made of a Plumber's Helper filled with water and dry ice). Riley Norris got a chance to carry the torch as you can see below.

Following that the events began. The events were the Slip and Slide Long Jump, Obstacle Course, Water Balloon Shot Put, Bottle Shooting Range, Frisbee Discus Throw, and Broom Beach Ball Relay of Death.

Riley Norris received the Gold Medal in the Water Balloon Shot Put earning 6 points by making a direct hit on the head of one of the officials.

Welcome to the Pack!

Hello to all you parents and others who are involved with Cub Pack 725.

Nancy and I are the Wolf and Bear Den Leaders. We thought this would be a good way to get out the word about all our Pack activities and what is coming up for the Pack and each of our dens ( not just Wolf and Bear but also Webelos).

Our chartering organizations are the Second and Fifth Fallbrook Wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We cover parts of Fallbrook and Bonsall, California.

This blog is actually set up to allow multiple people to add entries so I look forward to sharing the duties of updating the blog.

You can reach Nancy and I at 760-723-4926 if you have any questions.

By the way, we currently combine the Wolves and Bears into one Den and our meetings are at 5:30pm on Wednesday's at our house. Please call us on the phone if you need the address.

All of the Pack leaders are very dedicated to making sure that our boys are provided with and can participate in the many opportunities for growth and character building that Cub Scouts has to offer. We look forward to serving our boys and our Heavenly Father with you.
